Board Members

Renze Wang

President: Renze Wang is a MIT graduate student with double masters in Mechanical Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering. He obtained his Bacheloar's degree from EECS, Peking University, China in 2012. 

Treasurer:  Xuejun Huang is a third year PhD student at Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from School of Physics, Peking University, China in 2012. Currently he is working on corrosion of low carbon pipeline steel. 

Member: Yiming is a first-year graduate student in Department of Chemical Engineering doing research on innovative microreactor design. Before coming to MIT, he got his bachelor's degree from Tsinghua University. His expertise is applications of microfluidics. He is very interested in converting technology to applications and happy to communicate with people from diversified background about entrepreneurship.

Member: Lun Yu is a third year Ph.D. candidate in Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering at MIT, working on materials degradation under extreme environment. Before that, he graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with bachelor degree in Nuclear Engineering. By studying across the materials science and nuclear engineering, he is interested in bridging fundamental science with engineering applications, resolving the political, ethical and economic issues in technologies.

Member: Yuxuan Ye is a second year PhD candidate in Chemistry department at MIT. He majors in organic chemistry and is currently working on palladium-catalyzed fluorination reaction and copper-catalyzed amination reaction. Before that, he graduated from Peking University with a bachelor degree in 2013. 

Member: Chris Lai is a rising fifth year PhD candidate in the Department of Chemical Engineering at MIT, working on pushing pharmaceutical manufacturing from batch to continuous process. He is the founder/CEO of AquaFresco, a water-tech startup, winning  MADMEC, Water Innovation Prize and many other renown competitions. He worked as technical consultant for Novartis, General Mills and volunteered as external consultant for Disease Diagnosis Group and Design that Matters. Chris joined the Ventureships Club in 2015. Feel free to talk to him at any point!

Member: Yanghui Xie has her Master of Science in Management Studies degree from MIT Sloan School of Management, majoring in technology innovation, entrepreneurship and strategic management. With 12 years of experience in business strategy, business development and marketing management, Yanghui founded S-BUY, an enterprise technology service company to bring online shopping solutions to retail stores. Currently, she serves as the CEO of S-BUY to oversee the strategy and development of the startup in the global markets.

Member: Manita is a junior studying Mathematics with Computer Science and Economics. She has previously worked at J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley, and BNP Paribas in trading and investing banking roles, and will be working within Goldman Sachs' private equity division next summer. Currently, she is working with Women's World Banking Capital Partners developing microfinancial products for under-financed women in developing areas around the world, and is involved with MIT Ventureships, Traders@MIT, and Kappa Alpha Theta on campus.
