Co-President: Li Jing is a third year PhD student in Department of Physics at MIT. Before that, he finished his undergraduate study in School of Physics, Peking University, China and got his bachelor degree in the summer of 2014. He is now researching in Deep learning and optical neural network.
Co-President: Andrew Ramirez is a part-time graduate student in the Advanced Study Program focusing on Management (Course 15) while working full-time for MIT IS&T in the Emerging Solutions group. He holds a B.A. in Politics from Brandeis University. Andrew is interested in entrepreneurship and product design and hopes to help early stage MIT entrepreneurs achieve success through the Ventureships program.
Member: Philippe Schlumpf is an MBA Candidate at MIT Sloan School of Management (Class of 2017), majoring in Finance. He holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ETH Zürich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich). Prior to Sloan, he worked with private equity, M&A and corporate development in Brazil. Philippe is interested in helping MIT entrepreneurs with their new ventures.
Member: Vipender is a fellow in the departments of Bioengineering and Chemistry at MIT, where he works on development of novel drug discovery platforms by integrating diverse technologies to design and produce next generation of powerful anticancer, antiviral and antibacterial drugs.
Member: Yifei Zhang is a PhD candidate in Department of Materials Science and Engineering at MIT. He obtained his Bachelor's degree from School of Physics, Peking University, China in 2016. Currently he is working on integrated photonics and hyperspectral imaging systems.
Member: Laura is a passionate and driven¬ entrepreneur and intrapreneur who has always combined creativity with business. At New York University, she designed her own curriculum in studio art, business, and philosophy. While creating a thesis project at Parsons School of Design, Laura reconnected with her passion—making and selling products. Her winning thesis was adopted as a case study at the Milano Graduate School in New York for a Social Entrepreneurship class and she was invited to present her business plan at the Global Youth Conference at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. In 2011, Laura launched her own cosmetics manufacturing enterprise, Vonne, Inc., in Honduras and had her products sold in Walmart and TV Shopping.
After designing, developing, and launching mass consumer products in LATAM markets for 8yrs she realized she needed to take a sabbatical and continue her education. “Mr. Kressy´s integrated approach to engineering, business and design resonated with how businesses should operate and the hands-on lab experience makes the program unique. This model should be adopted in corporations as a C-Suite group leading strategy.”
Advisor: Lun Yu is a third year Ph.D. candidate in Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering at MIT, working on materials degradation under extreme environment. Before that, he graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a bachelor degree in Nuclear Engineering. By studying across the materials science and nuclear engineering, he is interested in bridging fundamental science with engineering applications, resolving the political, ethical and economic issues in technologies.
