Co-President: Yuxuan Ye is a third year PhD candidate in Chemistry department at MIT. He majors in organic chemistry and is currently working on palladium-catalyzed fluorination reaction and copper-catalyzed amination reaction. Before that, he graduated from Peking University with a bachelor degree in 2013. He has a passion for commercializing novel scientific and technological research achievements.
Co-President: Lun Yu is a third year Ph.D. candidate in Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering at MIT, working on materials degradation under extreme environment. Before that, he graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a bachelor degree in Nuclear Engineering. By studying across the materials science and nuclear engineering, he is interested in bridging fundamental science with engineering applications, resolving the political, ethical and economic issues in technologies.
Vice President: Andrew Ramirez is a part-time graduate student in the focusing on Management (Course 15) while working full-time for MIT IS&T in the Emerging Solutions group. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Politics from Brandeis University. Andrew is interested in entrepreneurship and product design and hopes to help early stage MIT entrepreneurs achieve success through the Ventureships program.
Advisor: Renze Wang served as the President of Ventureships Club in 2015. He got double Masters degree in MIT Mechanical Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering in 2015. He obtained his Bachelor's degree from EECS, Peking University, China in 2012.
IT Member: Yiming is a first-year graduate student in Department of Chemical Engineering doing research on innovative microreactor design. Before coming to MIT, he got his bachelor's degree from Tsinghua University. His expertise is applications of microfluidics. He is very interested in converting technology to applications and happy to communicate with people from diversified background about entrepreneurship.
Member: Chuteng Zhou is a third year PhD candidate in the department of Nuclear Science and Engineering at MIT. He is currently working at Plasma Science and Fusion Center, trying to make controlled fusion possible by investigating the properties of extremely hot plasma. He earned his degree(Diplôme d'Ingénieur) from École Centrale Paris/Supélec in France and he also holds a Master of Science in Applied Physics from Columbia University. He is interested in the applications of technology that can solve real-world problems. Being a trilingual, he is comfortable working in multicultural environments.
Member: Philippe Schlumpf is an MBA Candidate at MIT Sloan School of Management (Class of 2017), majoring in Finance. He holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ETH Zürich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich). Prior to Sloan, he worked with private equity, M&A and corporate development in Brazil. Philippe is interested in helping MIT entrepreneurs with their new ventures.
Member: Tian Xie is a first year Ph.D. candidate in Department of Materials Science and Engineering at MIT. He is currently prototyping a micro-optics platform for medical imaging and additive manufacturing. Before that, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Peking University in China. Tian is interested in applying technology to solve real-world problems and improve people’s lives.

Member: Ran Zheng is a first year graduate student in Sloan school of Management, majoring in Finance. She holds two bachelor's degrees in Economics and Hindi from Peking University. She has had plenty exposure to enterpreneurships and high-tech investments during her past work experience in Tencent M&A, SoftBank China Venture Capital and other VC firms. Ran has always been extremely enthusiastic in connecting start-ups with talents and investors, with the hope that more promising companies will be brought up to benefit the world.
Member: Weitong Liu is a first-year graduate student in Technology and Policy Program and a research assistant in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. Before coming to MIT, she got her bachelor's degree from Tsinghua University and was once visiting student at Stony Brook University, Caltech and MIT. She is working on environmental modeling of secondary fiber and the paper recycling system.
